THE END

Well. Everything sure did happen. But somehow, someway, the crew was able to avoid a total failure, even if it involved some questionable methods. Those methods might come back to haunt you some time down the line, but for now? For now, you're welcomed into the colony—but you might not want to stay here too long. The ship logs won't hold up to detailed scrutiny, and there is one alien among you. You could of course, try to take matters into your own hands but there are eyes all around you now, and who knows what the justice system in this world is like.
But you're free to go, back to your own world via a replica of the very same machine that brought you here by accident, at least if you're still alive. If you're dead? Well you're stuck with your illustrious captain, cause he's bailing as soon as he's able to stand on two feet. You'll be joining him back on a trip to his home world, bereft with it's own set of problems but at least you'll be getting a new body shortly after you arrive. It's not the good ending you wanted, but at least it's something.
And as for the intruder among you...the colony might have to deal with an alien invasion sometime in the very near future, and it's world hopping technology might be falling into aliens hands but. Hey, at least the De'dri hive likely has other priorities to cross off it's list before invading other worlds.
(OOC: Thank you for playing in Convive! It's been a wild three weeks. Feel free to thread out any epilogue threads before your character decides to run for the hills, though they are free to stay and help the colony with the alien invasion if you want. )

There was one thing he promised, after all:
No more mistakes.]

[ Misaki, don't berate the poor Captain, he's been through a lot in the past few hours. ]
But... my parents. My little brother and sister. The band... who's gonna keep Kokoro in line? Who's gonna...
[ Can ghosts cry? Ha ha they sure can! Misaki fumbles in her ghost pocket for her ghost handkerchief, sniffling. ]
no subject
Hm. Honestly, he's not quite sure he's ever felt whatever this emotion is before, and he really doesn't like it. ]
Okusawa-san.
[ Like... He's not going to apologize since he followed their plan perfectly and this was objectively the result of her own poor judgment, but it still feels oddly Not Great. ]
I'm not certain whether our worlds are exactly the same, but if you'd like, I can attempt to get in contact with your family and band so that they aren't completely in the dark. ...Though I would recommend altering the details to an extent.

[ Misaki looks up, eyes blurry. ]
Even after I messed up our arrangement... Heh, you really are a good friend, aren't you? No matter what you say about yourself.
[ She gives a loud sniff. ]
Okay, tell my family... I guess this is obvious, but tell them I love them. So, so much. And tell my siblings they have to be strong for their big sister, and... and tell Kanon-san that she's Kokoro's minder now, so she has to be brave, too. And Hagumi might cry on you, so be prepared for that. Actually, Kaoru-san might too, after she's done comparing the situation to Hamlet or whatever. And Kokoro... I'm not sure she actually understands the concept of death, so you're going to have to be extra patient with her, okay? Oh god, I'm dead, I'm really dead...
[ Her voice, mostly composed up until this point, trails off into poorly contained sobs. ]
I'm sorry... this is so [ hic ] stupid, I'm sorry...

...I'm sorry, Misaki. You didn't deserve any of that. None of you did.
[ Except, well, fuck you, Garista!!! ]

[ She gives an only moderately strained smile. ]
But... thanks. For saying that. And for being my friend.

[ You probably don't want to stay in DS world if you can help it tbh. ]

[ Misaki sighs and looks away. ]
Sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you, Captain. You've done so much for us already. It's just a lot to take in, you know?

And, honestly, the thought of Garista being wrecked and dead in space does make him smile, so there's that.
Given who the remaining few are, he has a very strong suspicion about who was hosting the third parasite, and will happily give his opinion should anyone ask for it, but it's not really his problem anymore!
So, when things are in order and it's time for goodbyes, he'll offer one of his familiar smiling salutes. ]
As I shall be returning home shortly, I have come to formally bid you farewell! Though I suspect the feeling was not always mutual, it was an honor to serve alongside you, and I shall carry this memory of our time together for the remainder of my life! Salute~! ☆
goodbyes;
You did well, Ibara.
Despite you not being in a favorable position, you came out alive, and happened to be a key force in getting rid of both of those aliens. Though we were never close, I'll acknowledge that, and be thankful for it.
I wish you well on your way back home.

[ look he's meeting you halfway on the name thing ]
Truly, I am honored! Though in fairness, that is simply all the result of my singular focus on my own survival. If you are of the opinion that the results justify my intentions, however, I shall happily accept your compliments and well wishes!

Game over. Or maybe it's more like a continue?

[ Despite everything that occurred, he seemed relatively calm. Maybe because in a way some things worked out and that's the way he was, really. ]
Thanks for your help in assuring that we would get a second chance in all of this. You had your reasons, but I still maintain that you didn't have to go to the trouble in the first place.
I haven't forgotten your attitude wasn't all that great, but actions do speak louder than words.
[ Putting it bluntly. ]

Like I said, it works out for both of us. You're not going to give me trouble after I shove you back into a body, are you?

It's not delivery... it's carry-out. ]
I believe the latter is the more positive way of looking at it, yes! Congratulations on the conclusion of a not-entirely-unsuccessful mission, Captain!
[ He'll set the pizza somewhere and open the box. It has pepperoni, sausage, and extra cheese! ]
I believe I had indicated some time ago that I would arrange for this upon our arrival, and I do not wish to leave you with the impression that I am one to neglect my obligations!

Video game nonsense, at a time like this? Honestly...
[He shakes his head and continues.]
Congratulations on your successful recovery. Or continuing recovery, at any rate. How are you feeling now?
no subject
Hey, it fits doesn't it? [ Blame Kojima. ]
Thanks, thanks. I have a splitting migraine because there's way too many ghosts for me to deal with, but I can handle that all soon enough. As for the stabbing bit, been through that before, so eh.

It's finally over, but he doesn't feel good about it.
That said, he can be approached there or during goodbyes when he's actually more emotionally put together. He tips his hat to whomever he's speaking with.]
I suppose this is it, isn't it? It would be highly impolite of me to not offer a proper farewell, so...I do wish you all the best, as does Slowbro.
[He'll even say it to all of those who survived with him, knowing one is an alien...]
off the ship and i still can't believe we made identical prompts
Well, in spite of everything, we made it.

Garista, do you have a moment?
