THE END

Well. Everything sure did happen. But somehow, someway, the crew was able to avoid a total failure, even if it involved some questionable methods. Those methods might come back to haunt you some time down the line, but for now? For now, you're welcomed into the colony—but you might not want to stay here too long. The ship logs won't hold up to detailed scrutiny, and there is one alien among you. You could of course, try to take matters into your own hands but there are eyes all around you now, and who knows what the justice system in this world is like.
But you're free to go, back to your own world via a replica of the very same machine that brought you here by accident, at least if you're still alive. If you're dead? Well you're stuck with your illustrious captain, cause he's bailing as soon as he's able to stand on two feet. You'll be joining him back on a trip to his home world, bereft with it's own set of problems but at least you'll be getting a new body shortly after you arrive. It's not the good ending you wanted, but at least it's something.
And as for the intruder among you...the colony might have to deal with an alien invasion sometime in the very near future, and it's world hopping technology might be falling into aliens hands but. Hey, at least the De'dri hive likely has other priorities to cross off it's list before invading other worlds.
(OOC: Thank you for playing in Convive! It's been a wild three weeks. Feel free to thread out any epilogue threads before your character decides to run for the hills, though they are free to stay and help the colony with the alien invasion if you want. )

[ Misaki, don't berate the poor Captain, he's been through a lot in the past few hours. ]
But... my parents. My little brother and sister. The band... who's gonna keep Kokoro in line? Who's gonna...
[ Can ghosts cry? Ha ha they sure can! Misaki fumbles in her ghost pocket for her ghost handkerchief, sniffling. ]

Hm. Honestly, he's not quite sure he's ever felt whatever this emotion is before, and he really doesn't like it. ]
Okusawa-san.
[ Like... He's not going to apologize since he followed their plan perfectly and this was objectively the result of her own poor judgment, but it still feels oddly Not Great. ]
I'm not certain whether our worlds are exactly the same, but if you'd like, I can attempt to get in contact with your family and band so that they aren't completely in the dark. ...Though I would recommend altering the details to an extent.

[ Misaki looks up, eyes blurry. ]
Even after I messed up our arrangement... Heh, you really are a good friend, aren't you? No matter what you say about yourself.
[ She gives a loud sniff. ]
Okay, tell my family... I guess this is obvious, but tell them I love them. So, so much. And tell my siblings they have to be strong for their big sister, and... and tell Kanon-san that she's Kokoro's minder now, so she has to be brave, too. And Hagumi might cry on you, so be prepared for that. Actually, Kaoru-san might too, after she's done comparing the situation to Hamlet or whatever. And Kokoro... I'm not sure she actually understands the concept of death, so you're going to have to be extra patient with her, okay? Oh god, I'm dead, I'm really dead...
[ Her voice, mostly composed up until this point, trails off into poorly contained sobs. ]
I'm sorry... this is so [ hic ] stupid, I'm sorry...

[ Which she didn't really do, unless we're considering existing as part of the ship's crew to be "the line of duty," but details. ]
This also isn't a promise, as I cannot guarantee that we are actually from the same version of our world, so you may not even be missing in mine. If you are, however, your requests are noted.
...That said, I'll have to find a way to spin events for both of us so that they are more believable and don't cast suspicion on me, of course. Fortunately deranged idol fans are hardly unheard of, so I can probably both fabricate an incident and stage a false cover-up through the agency to explain the lack of detail...

Uh-huh. The whole "too cool to act like I care about my friends" thing. I've been there, you know. And hey, if I'm still around in your world, you can tell that me to... I dunno. Watch out for blond jerks in glasses, I guess.
[ A watery smile. ]
I'll leave the narrative to you, Saegusa-san. You're the strategist, right? I'm just a DJ, after all. Look, I just wanted to say... thanks. For not being an alien. And, you know. For everything else.

...And now that he's actually looking at her instead of blatantly avoiding addressing her tears, he has to admit he doesn't really want to do that to her anyway, even if the things she's thanking him for now were probably always almost entirely self-serving on his part. ]
Well. I don't know how much credit I can really take for not being an alien, but... you're welcome, I suppose.

...I'm sorry, Misaki. You didn't deserve any of that. None of you did.
[ Except, well, fuck you, Garista!!! ]

[ She gives an only moderately strained smile. ]
But... thanks. For saying that. And for being my friend.

[ You probably don't want to stay in DS world if you can help it tbh. ]

[ Misaki sighs and looks away. ]
Sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you, Captain. You've done so much for us already. It's just a lot to take in, you know?

Never pictured yourself dead and trapped with some random guy, huh?
