THE END

Well. Everything sure did happen. But somehow, someway, the crew was able to avoid a total failure, even if it involved some questionable methods. Those methods might come back to haunt you some time down the line, but for now? For now, you're welcomed into the colony—but you might not want to stay here too long. The ship logs won't hold up to detailed scrutiny, and there is one alien among you. You could of course, try to take matters into your own hands but there are eyes all around you now, and who knows what the justice system in this world is like.
But you're free to go, back to your own world via a replica of the very same machine that brought you here by accident, at least if you're still alive. If you're dead? Well you're stuck with your illustrious captain, cause he's bailing as soon as he's able to stand on two feet. You'll be joining him back on a trip to his home world, bereft with it's own set of problems but at least you'll be getting a new body shortly after you arrive. It's not the good ending you wanted, but at least it's something.
And as for the intruder among you...the colony might have to deal with an alien invasion sometime in the very near future, and it's world hopping technology might be falling into aliens hands but. Hey, at least the De'dri hive likely has other priorities to cross off it's list before invading other worlds.
(OOC: Thank you for playing in Convive! It's been a wild three weeks. Feel free to thread out any epilogue threads before your character decides to run for the hills, though they are free to stay and help the colony with the alien invasion if you want. )

Normally this is when Avery would look absolutely scandalized by something so childish, but you know what? It may as well have happened that way. He’ll actually allow himself a chuckle over it...and quickly has to mask a sniffle since he’s not quite as done weeping as he thought he was.]
I only wish I could have been there to witness that. Alas, my hands were quite full.
[But hey, Higgs isn’t dead so that’s the important thing.
His small smile remains as he addresses the second bit.]
I believe that strategy was long over anyway. [...] You pressed further than I could manage to, after all.

[ ...Honestly, it's immensely frustrating to him to know that this all went on as long as it did when just one or two different choices by anyone among their ranks could have put a stop to things so much earlier, even if his own performance was at times far from flawless.
But dwelling on that now wouldn't be of any real benefit to him. He'd come out if it with what he'd most wanted anyway. ]
Anyway, I suppose poisonous snakes are naturally better at recognizing their own kind! And conversely — while I'm not sure if you'll take this as a compliment or an insult, and I truthfully intend it as neither — I really never suspected you for more than a minute.

For what it's worth, Avery doesn't look particularly offended or proud. He just snorts a little.]
Reflecting on it, I was surprised that you didn't hound me down during our trials... Your hunches were spot-on. I wish I could have realized that sooner rather than letting my petty emotions get in the way.
[He wouldn't have had to go through All of That with Garista, for one thing.]
I suppose it was good to have a self-described venomous snake on our side this whole time. [...] Hmph. A real Poison-type Trainer in the making.

[ There was supposed to be some kind of animal whose name was just snake spelled backwards, right? He might not mind one of those, assuming it didn't look as dumb as Slowbro. ]
And I can say with confidence that you're certainly lucky I wasn't on the other side!
[ Hm, hm. ]
So, are you ready to go wash this experience off your hands yet, then? Alternatively, if you're going to stay down there for a while longer, I could do something to your hair to make it look a little less like his if you like. Just some minor styling, I mean; you already know I didn't have any gardening shears or anything hidden in my pockets today.

[Ibara has proven to be incredibly resourceful, underhanded tactics or no. He would've made those investigations and trials even more of a living hell than they already were. Would he ever have been found out...?
Well, whatever. He's spending way too long thinking about Ibara for a lifetime at this point. He'll just...
Wait, what.]
You...want to toy with my hair.
[HE'S JUST MAKING SURE HE HEARD THAT RIGHT.]

I'm simply making an offer in case you would like a cover story for why you're still sitting on the ground ten minutes after our arrival, and/or if you would like to further differentiate yourself from a certain ex-alien who brought entirely too much attention to his own hair today for all the wrong reasons. I won't take a refusal personally unless you intend for me to do so!
